Leading international hostel chain Generator Hostels has supported Gordon Foat and the Team GB in this years WAVE (World Advanced Vehicle Expedition).

The rally is covering 8 European countries and starts on the 11th September in Paris. After a total of 2900km the finish line is in the centre of Prague, where this years champion will be crowned 15 days after the start and the Electric Super car award will be handed out.

Gordon Foat from Green Motor Sport will represent the Team GB in his Nissan Leaf, which is 100% electric and therefore solely powered by renewable energy. Travelling with a maximum of 120kmh the rally is a race in slow motion to raise awareness for sustainability and renewable energies.

Being an exciting international adventure and fun event the rally is supported with activities and events in over 30 cities along the route. Gordon Foat is proud to be on this special mission to promote electric mobility for the UK in his slick Nissan Leaf. A INNO truck will follow the convoy, which is the world largest electric truck, and will be used as charging station and media and press centre.

Commenting on the sponsorship from Generator Hostels, Alison Armitage, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Renewable energies like wind and solar power are very important to a sustainable future. We all need to do our bit to help protect the planet for future generations and in supporting Gordon and Team GB during WAVE I saw a good opportunity to contribute to the important message of energy saving and responsible travel. With our support of Team GB we hope to increase awareness of these critical issues and help make a difference”
