Last night, London won the accolade of the UK’s best city at the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Awards 2011. London took the top spot for its incredible range of nightlife and entertainment, most appetising restaurants and food as well as impressive museums and theatres.

For the second year running, London’s business hotels swept the board with 14 of the 15 entries being located in the capital. The 2011 winner was the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park which took the top spot for its location and restaurants. In second place was the InterContinental London Park Lane followed by The Dorchester in third.

Commenting on the capital’s success, London & Partners CEO Gordon Innes said:
“I am delighted that London has been recognised as the UK’s best city by the discerning readers of Condé Nast Traveller. There is so much on offer in the capital from great restaurants and attractions to arts and culture and accommodation. For business travellers, the choice of accommodation is endless and it is an honour for the city to have so many London hotels recognised in the awards.”
