*Proven seven-seater remains available parallel to new Zafira Tourer
*Zafira now with enhanced standard equipment and five engines
*Zafira and Zafira Tourer – maximum flexibility for different customer needs

Rüsselsheim. The Opel Zafira Tourer expands Opel’s monocab range in the fall of 2011 after making its world premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt. The new “Lounge on wheels” brings premium qualities, innovative technologies and sculptural, dynamic design with a fresh concept of interior flexibility to the segment.

For fans of the proven Zafira concept the current model will remain available with significantly enhanced standard equipment for an attractive entry-level price. The popular second-generation Zafira has sold around one million units since its introduction in 2005 and continues to win over customers with its standard Flex7 seating system that enables various configurations without the cumbersome removal of seats – a flexibility concept that Opel set the trend with back in 1999 with the first-generation Zafira.

Attractive equipment packages that bundle options in customer-friendly combinations with price advantages are available to refine and individualize the Zafira:

*the FlexOrganizer Pack for a tidy luggage compartment
*the Sight & Light Pack for optimal lighting and good visibility
*the Winter Pack for heated front seats and heated ducts in third row
*Seat Comfort Pack for driver and front passenger
*as well as a Convenience Pack for many amenities in the interior
*For the sporty-elegant look there is the Premium Pack, the Sportive Pack and the OPC Line Pack

Further potential for savings is offered by the new infotainment system TOUCH & CONNECT Europa Navi. Compared to the current Navi DVD 90, it offers a host of new and improved functions. For example touch-screen functionality, SD card-based navigation with road maps for 28 European countries in 2 or 3D as well as a USB interface; and at a significantly lower price.

Opel now offers the Zafira with five engines ranging from 81 kW/110 hp to 110 kW/150 hp. There is a choice of the two gasoline units 1.6 ecoFLEX (85 kW/115 hp) and 1.8 (103 kW/140 hp), two 1.7-liter ecoFLEX CDTI diesel models with 81 kW/110 hp and 92 kW/125 hp as well as the 1.6 CNG turbo ecoFLEX (110 kW/150 hp) with especially economical natural gas propulsion.

Zafira and Zafira Tourer: Flexibility for different customer needs

In its current form the Opel Zafira addresses price-conscious customers that value functionality. These customers benefit from the very affordable price of the award-winning features of the multi-functional, flexible seven-seater.

With its completely re-designed seating concept, the Zafira Tourer now sets new standards in cabin flexibility and atmosphere in the spacious interior as well as for relaxed driving with maximum comfort and safety. The second generation of the Opel Eye front camera builds the basis for a range of innovative assistance systems including adaptive, radar-based speed control with collision imminent braking feature. So especially trendy families with active lifestyles who enjoy new technologies will find what they are looking for in the Zafira Tourer.

The Zafira and the new Zafira Tourer will be manufactured exclusively in the Opel plant in Bochum.
