Citi Philippines Named Best Foreign Bank by Alpha Southeast Asia Magazine
For the third consecutive year, Citi Philippines received the “Best Foreign Bank in the Philippines” award from the institutional investment magazine, Alpha Southeast Asia.
Citi bested other foreign banks in the country based on profitability, shareholder returns, independent league table rankings, market share, transaction volume, size and uniqueness of notable deals undertaken, the extent of banking innovation, case studies and client testimonials.
According to the editors of the magazine, Citi Philippines has proven to have the most “committed footprint” and on-the-ground resources throughout the region. Citi is the largest foreign commercial bank in the Philippines in terms of customers, assets, revenues and domestic branch presence.
Accepting the award, Sanjiv Vohra, Country Head and Citi Country Officer for the Philippines, said: “We are honored to receive this award from Alpha Southeast Asia for the third straight year. This affirms our commitment to our clients and stakeholders as we continue to create stronger value propositions and strengthen key partnerships. In our 109th year of doing business in the Philippines, we are proud to have served the government, private institutions and individuals in the country, and to remain their financial partner of choice.”
Alpha Southeast Asia began conferring the award in 2009 – and Citi Philippines has been winning the award year after year for this category.
Citi continues to reap awards for its achievements in banking excellence from innovative products to exemplary people, as well as its community initiatives. Most recently, Citi received the following accolades: Best Foreign Commercial Bank and Best Foreign Investment Bank from FinanceAsia, Overall Best for Credit and Best Foreign Cash Management Bank from Asiamoney, and Best International Trade Bank from Trade Finance. During the Global CSR Summit held in Cebu in August, Citi’s pioneering work in microfinance merited a Gold Award for Best Community Program.
