Kenworth To Feature Key Products at Great American Trucking Show

Kenworth Booth Offers T700 with PACCAR MX Engine, T800 Heavy Hauler, and Kenworth NavPlus System

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The aerodynamic Kenworth T700 equipped with the PACCAR MX engine will be featured in Kenworth’s booth (No. 12137) at the Great American Trucking Show Aug. 25 -27 at the Dallas Convention Center.

The fuel-efficient T700 equipped with the low-emission PACCAR MX engine was named the 2011 Commercial Heavy Duty Truck of the Year by the American Truck Dealers this past spring. The winning combination also was featured this year on the popular “Speedmakers” television show on Speed™. The one-hour program was filmed at the Kenworth plant in Chillicothe, Ohio, where The World’s Best® trucks are assembled.

The Kenworth T700 possesses the lowest aerodynamic drag of any Kenworth truck in the company’s history and has received Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay(SM) program designation. The Kenworth T700 targets over-the-road and team driver operations with 60 cubic feet of interior storage and an 8-foot cathedral ceiling, and offers excellent low-cost operation, superior driver comfort, and modern styling.

The PACCAR MX engine is available with a horsepower range of 380 hp to 485 hp and torque outputs up to 1,750 lb-ft. This power range, combined with excellent fuel efficiency, high reliability, durability, lightweight design and low cost of ownership, makes it an ideal choice for both over-the-road line-haul and vocational applications.

A Kenworth T800 heavy hauler equipped with 38-inch AeroCab® sleeper, 2010 Cummins ISX15 engine, and Eaton® UltraShift® Plus transmission will also be featured. The T800, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has been the standard choice among vocational users because of its visibility and maneuverability. Constant improvements over the last 25 years by Kenworth, such as the large cooling package for heavy haulers and Kenworth Extended Day Cab option, have improved the model’s cost of ownership and resale values, further contributing to the model’s popularity.

Kenworth will also exhibit a special kiosk of the revolutionary Kenworth NavPlus®, a PACCAR proprietary navigation and business technology system for Class 5-8 trucks. The PC-based, in-dash system includes true truck-specific navigation, vehicle data, hands-free phoning, audio controls (including satellite radio, AM/FM, CD, MP3 and USB), camera inputs, roadside assistance, and optional Internet access.
