Delphi Supplies EMS on Great Wall Motor’s Diesel Pickups for European Market

Great Wall Motor’s Wingle diesel pickups landed in Italy, powered by Delphi engine management systems

SHANGHAI, China — Delphi Automotive’s advance engine management systems are featured in a new diesel engine, developed with a Chinese automaker, which meets stringent European emissions standards. The engine powers a pickup truck recently introduced to the European Market.

The Green-Quiet 2.0T diesel engine features Delphi’s high-pressure common rail system, including the advanced servo-solenoid injector, high-pressure fuel pump and control unit. The system provides 1800 bar injection pressure and fuel injection up to seven times per engine cycle. The advanced high-pressure common rail system enables the engine to achieve maximum combustion efficiency, strong power output and optimal fuel economy.

The engine powers the Wingle 2.0T diesel engine, which Great Wall Motor introduced in Italy in June 2011. The Green-Quiet 2.0T also has been installed on Great Wall’s Haval H5 manual and automatic SUV.

Following the success of Green-Quiet 2.0T project, Delphi has entered into an agreement with Great Wall Motor to jointly develop new diesel engines to meet future European emission standards.
