WEBWIRE

On Tuesday, August 23, 2011, members of the Strategic Play Group Ltd. will be playing and presenting at the SERIOUS PLAY Conference in Redmond, Washington, near Seattle. They are also sponsoring this important event.  This conference examines the utilization of play and games for learning. Conference speakers will include authors of the latest books on game development and design, top analysts covering serious games, senior developers of award winning products, and project directors already leveraging games for corporate and military training, healthcare, and education.

Participants won’t just observe.  During the Strategic Play session they will be building with LEGO bricks, which will require them to use 3D thinking that engages the whole brain. It will be a unique opportunity for those in attendance to learn about this innovative, hands-on methodology. It will also give them insight into what the Strategic Play Group stands for, which designs creative tools to improve individual, team, organization, and community performance.

“Clearly there is a fast growing trend and movement toward the use of games and play in the workplace,” said Jacqueline Lloyd Smith of Strategic Play. “We know people learn better when they are involved and experience learning firsthand. We also recognize that people are working differently and learning in new ways, given the huge impact that technology has had on our culture. At this conference we will be surrounded by rule breakers and innovators and people like those connected to the Strategic Play Group, who are serious about play, learning, exploring, and developing. ”
