Mir Print & Graphics, an Orange County commercial printing service, has become eco-friendly, employing recycled paper and other green choices.
LOS ANGELES, CA - Mir Print & Graphics, an Orange County commercial printing service, has chosen to make a commitment to the environment by becoming more eco-friendly. The print shop actively takes part in recycling programs and is taking additional measures to be eco-friendly.
“We’re proud that we are one of the only green printing services in the Los Angeles vicinity,” says Robert Mirzakhanian, owner of Mir Print & Graphics, a logo design service. “We’re constantly searching for new methods for going green.”
The printing service uses paper that has a 50 percent recycled content and Mir recycles the wasted paper which is inevitably produced through the printing process. The company even encourages others in the recycling of their paper. “We try to make it easy for others to recycle,” points out Mirzakhanian, whose service also provides graphic designers. “Anybody who has extra paper they want to discard can come by our company and leave it with us. We will recycle your paper for you.”
The print shop has also committed itself to employing chemicals and inks that contain no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The manufacture, processing and disposal of VOCs can be detrimental to the global environment. VOCs can also be dangerous to the condition of a business’s indoor air, a problem that environmentalists are addressing nowadays. “Inhaling VOCs all day can be hazardous to the human body in various ways,” explains Mirzakhanian, whose company offers graphic design services. “By utilizing zero-VOC materials, we’re helping to protect the planet, enhancing the condition of the indoor air in our plant and encouraging the good health of our employees.”
