GUINNESS fans all over the country will be delighted to hear that Arthur’s Day will make a very welcome return on Thursday, 22nd September.

Arthur’s Day, which is the day that celebrates Arthur Guinness and his remarkable legacy, will once again feature an incredible line up of some the best international and Irish acts perform in the intimate surroundings of select pubs across the island of Ireland making this one of best things to do in Dublin this September.

Due to its phenomenal success, studio celebrations will take place in four locations across the island of Ireland in Dublin, Cork, Belfast and Limerick this year.

Guinness continues to bring fans close to the action and earlier today the launch of Arthur’s Day featured live performances by Aloe Blacc, Paloma Faith, Cashier No. 9, Ryan Sheridan and Bressie, as a taste of what’s to come on Arthur’s Day itself. Guinness fans all over the country were treated to exclusive live footage of the performances from a live stream on the Guinness Ireland Facebook page.

Speaking about Arthur’s Day, Paloma Faith said “Arthur’s Day just looks like the best fun. A fantastic city, great bands and amazing music. I’m especially looking forward to a completely stripped back set in a local pub – a great intimate setting that should make for a fantastic atmosphere. See you on 22nd September Ireland!“

Aloe Blacc added “It has been an incredible year for me so far and I am so thrilled to be invited to play Arthur’s Day. Having heard the amazing things the Arthur Guinness Fund is doing around the world, and with my own goal being to encourage positive social change through my music, there was no question… I had to be involved. From the line up announced so far, I’d say it’s looking set to the be the best year yet - am hoping I’ll get a chance to see some of the other great acts while I’m there. See you on 22nd!“

Also speaking today, Tanya Clarke, Marketing Director, Diageo Ireland said, “We are thrilled to announce that Arthur’s Day is back, and this year even more countries will host live music events to mark the occasion with performances taking place all across the world, kick-starting right here in Dublin, the home of Guinness“.

“Now in its third year, Arthur’s Day has proven a massive hit with people throughout Ireland and indeed the globe. This year we are delighted to extend our Irish music hubs to pubs and venues in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Belfast, where music fans will be treated to internationally acclaimed musicians, in the intimate surrounds of their local pub.“

At 17:59 locally and around the world, countries including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Caribbean nations, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Japan, Singapore and South Korea, will all join in the celebrations to mark the philanthropic legacy of Arthur Guinness now making this one of the most popular Dublin tourist attractions.

The Arthur Guinness Fund, along with Arthur’s Day was established as part of the Guinness brand’s 250th celebrations in 2009. The Arthur Guinness fund has had a significant and positive transformational impact on local communities in Ireland. Last week Guinness drew down on a further €650,000 from the fund, which was awarded to another ten Irish social entrepreneurs. The ten entrepreneurs with each of their unique projects will not only receive financial support but also professional business mentoring over the next two years.
