Formosa, Texas Power Plant Begins Operation - U.S. Operations Unaffected by FPG Operational Difficulties in Taiwan

LIVINGSTON, NJ – Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. is pleased to announce the successful start-up of a new power plant constructed in Point Comfort, Texas. The facility completed the first major milestone of operation with the full start-up and continual operation of the #2 boiler on schedule. At full operation, the facility will generate 300 megawatts of power and will supply the Formosa, Texas complex with electricity providing operational flexibility and supporting planned expansions at the site.


Operations at the Formosa sites in the United States have not been impacted by the difficulties experienced by the affiliated companies in Taiwan, most notably by the recent fires at the Mailiao petrochemical complex in Yunlin County, Taiwan.
