Deliver Your News to the World – Vietnam challenges athletes to a unique triathlon during 10 to 11 September 2011

DirectRooms announces that a testing triathlon in Vietnam will be pushing athletes over the official Olympic distances in all three disciplines this September.

The Vietnam Triathlon will consist of a mixture of events and as well as the Olympic distance race there’ll also be a Sprint Duathlon where the emphasis is on speed over a 3km run and then 10km by bike.

Both events are open to individuals or for teams to take part as a relay and there is even a specially organised race for children.

The Kids Aquathlon will feature a 200m swim followed by a run for 1.5km for any budding athletes and is the ideal way for kids to get into the sport. In the main triathlon the official distances are much longer with competitors first swimming for 1.5km, then it’s onto the bikes for 40km before racing home over the 10km run.

The swim will take place off Cua Dai beach and will be made up of two 750m laps while the cycle winds through rural areas, past rice fields and then through areas of jungle.

Spectators travelling from a hotel Phu Quoc ( can see the races as they take place on 10th September 2011 and the following day there will be a heritage cycle ride where competitors will be able to see a bit more of the country rather than just the confines of the race.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms commented: “Visitors will find that getting into hotels is difficult as more people come to compete in the triathlon.”
