Epsilon Wins Two DMAW MAXI Awards for Marketing Excellence and Innovation on Behalf of Save the Children
DALLAS, TEXAS – - Epsilon, the industry’s leading marketing services firm, announced today that they have been honored with Silver and Bronze MAXI Awards from the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW). The MAXI Awards honor marketing excellence and innovation spanning a number of categories. Epsilon won for Save the Children’s Birthday Campaign and their President’s Appeal Water Package.
The Save the Children Birthday Campaign, which won the Silver Award, was a targeted fundraising campaign which highlighted the sponsored child’s birthday including a personalized letter with the sponsored child’s name, birth date and age. It encouraged the recipient sponsor to send a birthday card to the child as well as a special donation. As a result of the campaign, responses increased three-fold and revenue more than doubled. With a 28% response rate, the campaign increased direct revenue and also improved retention rates for sponsors.
The Save the Children President’s Appeal Water Package, which won the Bronze Award, was a direct mail campaign focused on a specific need – clean water. The campaign leveraged the story of a specific child and how her quest for clean water takes several hours a day and prevents her from attending school. With a matching grant to quadruple the donor’s gift, multiple channels to give including mail, the web and phone and an integrated email follow up effort, the campaign resulted in a 32% lift in response rate and a 21% lift in average gift.
