Klaus Hofer to join the Executive Board of the KION Group


*Responsible for Human Resources, Legal and Internal Audit
*Also appointed as Labour Relations Director

The Supervisory Board of KION Group GmbH has appointed Klaus Hofer (53) to the Executive Board of KION Group GmbH. He will also be the Group’s Labour Relations Director. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for the Human Resources, Legal and Internal Audit functions, which are currently headed up by KION’s CFO Harald Pinger. Klaus Hofer is due to assume his new responsibilities on 1 October this year.

This extensive experience will enable him to significantly strengthen the role of personnel management in the KION Group. He will also be in charge of the Legal and Internal Audit functions.”

The Supervisory Board was delighted to be able to appoint an expert with a proven HR track record to the KION Group’s Executive Board. “HR is taking on an increasingly important role”, emphasised Johannes Huth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. “The KION Group’s most valuable resources are its employees and managers.”

Klaus Hofer is currently Director of Human Resources at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. Between 1995 and 2008 he was employed at B. Braun Melsungen AG, initially as Director of the central HR & Legal division and, from 1996, as a member of the Management Board and Labour Relations Director with responsibility for Human Resources, Labour Relations and Legal Affairs/Compliance. A trained lawyer, Klaus Hofer’s previous roles include General Counsel at Rheinmetall Berlin AG and positions at BHF-Bank. He studied law at the Ruhr University Bochum and commercial law at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
