Mother’s Day Card Contest Opens Today

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Hallmark today announces the winners in its recent card-creation contest, “Love is a Funny Thing.” Consumers were invited to find their romantic side, and create a funny Valentine’s Day card for someone’s sweetheart. Hallmark judges looked for cards with funny photos and writing that worked well together and could be sent to many different people. All cards feature a funny photo or design on the cover.

Contestants submitted their creations in late May and early June. The 20 winning designs will be sold on Hallmark.com beginning August 1, and several will be chosen to be featured in Hallmark Gold Crown and WalMart stores across the country. Winners each receive $250 and could win an additional $250 if their cards are chosen for in-store sales.

This is Hallmark’s 25th consumer-created card contest. The winners are from 13 U.S. states and two providences of Canada. In this contest, three entrants created three winning cards each and two entrants turned in two winning cards each.
