Additional Capacity Needed to Meet Growing Global Demand for TempRite® CPVC Products

CLEVELAND, -- Lubrizol Advanced Materials, a business segment of The Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE:LZ), announces it has begun work on a multimillion-dollar expansion at its Louisville, KY manufacturing facility in order to meet growing demand around the globe for its TempRite® chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) products. The expansion effort is expected to continue through 2012.

Since 1961, the Louisville plant has been manufacturing CPVC resins and compounds for use in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial piping products under the FlowGuard®, BlazeMaster® and Corzan® brand names. CPVC products were first commercialized by The Lubrizol Corporation in 1959 and have since become preferred building materials for a variety of applications because of its inherent chemical and temperature resistance properties, ease of installation, lower material costs and overall durability.

“This plant expansion is just one of many efforts being undertaken to support our global strategic growth plan,” said Dale Willis, general manager, TempRite Engineered Polymers. “Lubrizol recognizes the tremendous growth potential for our CPVC products and is willing to support that growth with the necessary technology and manufacturing enhancements.”
