Julie Lydon Joins Weber Shandwick as Vice President, Cleantech Practice, Northern California

SAN FRANCISCO – Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global public relations firms, today announced that Julie Lydon has joined the agency as vice president of the Cleantech practice, effective immediately.

Based in San Francisco, she will contribute to the management of Weber Shandwick’s cleantech accounts in Northern California and the development of Weber Shandwick’s global Cleantech practice. Weber Shandwick’s Cleantech practice has experienced continued growth this year, adding significant business including Bloom Energy, Suntech Power, Vantage Point Capital Partners and Ineos Bio.

Lydon brings more than 16 years of experience as a leader in public relations, with the last seven years focused on the cleantech and venture capital sectors. Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, she ran her own consultancy, where she spent nine years managing PR projects and ongoing programs for a variety of clients; and served as a dedicated, senior consultant to SparkPR from 2004 to 2011. Previously, Lydon worked for Porter Novelli in Boston and New York, where she focused on Hewlett-Packard, BMC Software, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Battery Ventures.

Throughout her career, she has worked with venture capital clients, including: ATV, Azure Capital, Crosslink Capital, DCM, Index Ventures and New Venture Partners. Additionally, she has counseled cleantech clients such as: AlertMe, MTI Micro Fuel Cells, Pinnacle Engines, Recurve, SoloPower and Solar Universe.
