Letko KTM rider Tanner Moore is no stranger to hard work. The AMA Arenacross Western Lites rider participated in both the Eastern and Western Lites classes and also the Arenacross class throughout the 2011 season. The Auburn, Kansas native, also took home his first victory of the 2011 season in front of his hometown crowd in Wichita, Kansas on March 5. More ended his 2011 Lites class season on a high note by winning the last race in Des Moines, Iowa. Moore rounded out the in season second place overall, just 30 points behind Arenacross Western Lites champion Chad Cook. Moore closed out the season with two wins, one podium visit and five top-10 finishes.

Now that the 2011 season is wrapped up, Moore can kick back and enjoy his summer doing some of the things he loves to do like racing for fun and hanging out by the lake.

“This summer, I plan on doing a few pro national races, mainly racing on my favorite tracks,” said Moore. “I feel that I have a better chance of doing well on the tracks that I like riding on the most. I will be doing some local racing throughout Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma. I also plan on going to the lake to tube, wakeboard and to do some fishing and camping.”

When asked about his favorite thing to do in the off season, Moore says, “I love to go to the lake. We keep our camper and boat there all summer, so it’s really easy and convenient to run up there in the afternoon with some friends and do some wakeboarding and skiing.”

In order to be a top championship contender next season, Moore will be focusing on his training whenever he has the free time.

“I really like it when summer rolls around because I can finally get out of the gym and start riding my road bicycle,” explains Moore. “I train on my road bicycle the most. I also really enjoy swimming laps in the pool and I also try to get in a good lift and some balancing exercises at least once-a-week.”

When reminiscing on his 2011 season, Moore’s best memory, which came from Wichita, Kansas. “Would have to be my first win in front of my hometown crowd,” said Moore. “I had a lot of family and friends there to see me, which made it even better.”

As for next season, Moore has a lot that he is looking forward to.

“I really just can’t wait to get the season underway,” said Moore. “I feel that I have a lot more confidence and know more what to expect going into the 2012 season. I think it’s going to be a great year!”
