WEBWIRE

U.S. music lovers now have the opportunity to see Icelandic singer Bjork perform at the upcoming Iceland Airwaves 2011 music festival, taking place between 12th and 16th October.

Bjork will be making a special appearance with her Biophilia live show twice during the festival, as well as another four intimate shows at the newly opened concert hall Harpa, in downtown Reykjavik.

These upcoming shows are set to be unique, where Bjork will perform new songs from the forthcoming Biophilia studio album, plus numerous of her other best-loved back catalogue.

The show will feature group of unique musical collaborators and a choir of 24 girls, as well as a range of specially conceived and crafted instruments, amongst them a bespoke digitally-controlled pipe organ; a 30 foot pendulum that harnesses the earth’s gravitational pull to create musical patterns.

Bjork will be performing twice at the Iceland Airwaves music festival on Wednesday 12th and Sunday 16th October. The Biophilla show will also be taking place on Wednesday 19th, Saturday 22nd, Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th October at Harpa and tickets can be obtained for these shows via www.icelandair.is/bjork.
