Alcatel partners with Fiberdata to bring Fiber-to-the-Home solution to Swedish providers

Hong Kong, Broadband World Forum Asia, - Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) announced today the delivery, through its Swedish systems integration partner Fiberdata, of its advanced fiber access solution to four service provider networks in Sweden. The Swedish service providers will leverage the solution to bring triple play services such as high speed Internet and IPTV to thousands of businesses and consumers.

Fiberdata is implementing Alcatel’s Fiber-to-the-user (FTTU) system, an end-to-end fiber access solution that has been proven to offer high bandwidth and superior value. The Swedish FTTU networks - being deployed by local utilities and cable TV (CATV) operator Transit – will enable these service providers to cost-effectively deliver high revenue, next generation broadband services today over a single optical fiber.
