Dassault Aviation develops its first information search and access applications with EXALEAD

Saint-Cloud, France, - At the 49th Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, Dassault Aviation unveiled the prototype of a new application for flight line crew and mechanics, built around a Search-Based applications development platform from Exalead, a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes.

Developed in less than a month by a mixed Dassault Systèmes-Bull team, it allows instant post-flight access to all the maintenance data used for diagnostics support.

Several hundred thousand records – aircraft, system and equipment repair records and other maintenance reports – contained in different databases are collected, indexed and linked together by high-performance search algorithms.

The innovations offered by this new technology open the way to other applications in every sector of the company’s activities. Dassault Aviation has already launched development of new high value-added services, such as establishing and operating worldwide stocks of Falcon spare parts.

Initial assessment of results both from the point of view of platform performance and development and integration times for these new services, are very promising. They should enable Dassault Aviation to further consolidate its leadership position thanks to the exclusive nature of the services offered to its corporate jet and military aircraft customers.
