innoWake seals $4.2M Deal for Natural/Adabas Migration
San Francisco, 07/06/2011. The die is cast - after 6 months of evaluation and analysis, the State of Colorado has chosen innoWake’s migration technology.
The Office of Information Technology, in conjunction with the Child Support Enforcement’s IT staff, is looking to move the Natural/Adabas application based on Natural and Adabas (both Software AG technology) running on an IBM mainframe to Java and SQL. The proposal process yielded innoWake as the winner among 17 total vendors, large and small.
The decision was based not only on the ability to automatically migrate Natural, Cobol, and PL/1 to Java, but also on the maintainability of the code after transformation.
“We are putting extreme emphasis on the ability of development staff to use the resulting code as a basis for all future development”, Thorsten Bernecker, CEO of innoWake explains. He adds, “The fact that we - as a medium sized enterprise - were able to pull through against the industry giants underlines our solution’s fit and quality.” innoWake decided to spread its wings and enter the North American market four years ago and had already acquired well known customers like The University of Texas at Austin and Lehman Brothers. “This is the largest single order innoWake has received to date”, explains Mirko Schliemann, COO of innoWake, “and confirms our decision to enter the US market.”
Next to migrating the application “Automated Child Support Enforcement System (ACSES)” to Java/SQL and its deployment into all corners of the State, there are three additional Natural/Adabas applications looking for modernization within different departments after the launch in summer of 2013. “We are very proud of the sales team working on this RFP - especially since we are securing and creating jobs in the US and Germany”, adds Arne Gerhard, Co Founder of innoWake international inc. and responsible for the US side of the business.
innoWake international inc. has been selling and supporting innoWake gmbh’s innovative products and solutions in the US and Canada for over four years. The tools are tailored to modernize legacy applications as well as migrating COBOL, PL/1 and Natural to Java. In addition an Eclipse based plugin is available that allows developing applications in Natural or Eclipse in this modern environment. These tools are part of the solution portfolio that allows soft migration and modernization, a unique proposition in this space. innoWake combines the expertise of Java, Natural, COBOL, and PL/1 to propel its customers and their applications into state-of-the-art technology. The subsidiary is based in sunny San Francisco, CA.
