CyboEnergy Is Prepared to Show the World’s First Solar Mini-Inverter at Intersolar NA
July 5, 2011 - CyboEnergy (http://www.cyboenergy.com/), a subsidiary of CyboSoft (http://www.cybosoft.com/), General Cybernation Group Inc., (Rancho Cordova, California), announced today that it is prepared to introduce CyboInverter, the world’s first solar power Mini-Inverter at Intersolar North America (http://www.intersolar.us/) in San Francisco on July 12-14, 2011.
CyboEnergy will have a live demo of a CyboInverter as shown in the following picture. The Mini-Inverter has 4 input channels and 4 pairs of DC wires with standard MC-4 connectors that can easily connect to 4 solar panels. A number of CyboInverters can daisy chain with the AC input and output cables and connectors. Since a CyboInverter can perform Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) for each connected solar panel, it solves the partial shading problems and optimizes power production. This smart and scalable design with multiple patents pending makes the inverter and solar power system installation extremely easy.
There are two main types of solar power inverters on the market: (i) Centralized or String Inverters, and (ii) Microinverters. Centralized inverters have a well-known problem. The performance of the entire solar power system is dictated by the performance of the weakest solar panel. That means, solar power production can reduce significantly caused by non-uniformity of solar panels, sunlight variations or partial shading due to clouds, trees, dust on the panel. In addition, since MPPT can only be applied at a system level, but not to each solar panel, a lot of design and installation effort must be made to assure the solar panels are properly oriented in respect to each other. That is why the design and installation contributes to 40%-50% of the total system cost of a centralized inverter based solar power system although the per watt cost for a centralized inverter is relatively low.
The first CyboInverter model is compatible with most 60-cell crystalline silicon solar panels. It is designed for outdoor installations with natural cooling. Communication to the outside world is through a powerline, as wireless communication may be unreliable.
