ROCHESTER, Minn — New author, Linda Case, has released her first novel, “Babylon USA”, a futuristic thriller set in Iowa. The story begins with a destructive tornado that destroys fictitious town Clark’s Corner, Iowa and spirals into a chain of events that alters the course of the United States of America. The novel follows the lives of five people trying to survive in a world that their government has abandoned. Divided into four parts, the novel is available on Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook for the price of $2.99.

Iowa is the microcosm for the rest of the deteriorating, and shrinking, nation; devastation as a result of our government’s denial and procrastination.

“America’s denial about climactic change, the need for renewable and alternative energy, the health care crisis, our decaying middle class, our vulnerable economy, our politicizing of religion, and our true militaristic place in the world, has to someday come home to roost. ’Babylon USA’ shows the worst case scenario of this denial,” says Ms. Case.

The novel takes the reader on a journey across Iowa to Council Bluffs/Omaha, to a paramilitary survivalist camp, to the crime-ridden, poverty-stricken streets of Des Moines and into the worlds of managed health care, the rich and powerful Big Brothers, and the glittery, often hypocritical world of televangelism.

Linda Case has been a registered nurse for over three decades and currently works for a major health care system in Southern Minnesota. She is a political news junkie, an avid traveler, and a voracious reader and writer. Her second novel,“Land of the Loons”, a detective thriller/spoof, will be released as an ebook later this summer and her third novel, “Jory Farina”, a detective thriller, set New York City 1987, will be released in the Fall.
