Soluto secures $10.5 million in Round B funding led by Index Ventures
Soluto, the creator of ‘Anti-Frustration Software’ and the PC Genome knowledgebase, today announced that it has secured US$10.5 million in Series B funding. Index Ventures led the round with participation from existing partners Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), Giza Venture Capital, and Proxima Ventures. Soluto plans to invest both in the development of new products for PCs as well as expand its offerings to mobile platforms, in addition to the continued development of its PC Genome knowledge-base.
Soluto’s patent-pending technology detects when a user is frustrated by his PC and tells him which application is causing it. Soluto then harnesses the power of the crowd to understand which actions really eliminate frustrations and improve the overall user experience. This collective user wisdom, in the form of anonymous statistical data, is gathered automatically through the download and usage of Soluto’s Anti-Frustration software, analyzed by Soluto, and stored in the PC Genome, a knowledgebase of PC frustrations and solutions, gathered for the benefit of all users.
Soluto’s ’Anti-Frustration Software’ is a Windows application, available for free download from: www.soluto.com/download . Having recently launched a new version of its Anti-Frustration software, Soluto now offers users three solutions to eliminate PC frustrations that they encounter, focusing in the windows boot, web-browsers, and application crashes.
“As technology evolves, it becomes more and more complicated to the end user. There are 1.5B PCs around the world, many of their users are unhappy with them. Soluto’s goals – to solve the frustrations technology consumers face, and compel software developers to design responsibly, with the end user in mind – are both noble and promising" said Saul Klein, Partner at Index Ventures who will be joining Soluto’s board of directors. “We are very excited about Soluto. Their technology is advanced, their data is extremely valuable, and they employ a unique approach to tackling PC and other platforms’ problems, through crowdsourcing.”
Soluto’s Co-Founder and CEO Tomer Dvir said Soluto is proud to appear in this portfolio: “We’re thrilled to partner with Index Ventures,” said Dvir. “We want to make as many people as possible as happy as possible with their computers and mobile devices, and together with Index and our existing investors we’ll be able to take some major steps in that direction".
