MAN strengthens its presence in Munich

Over 1,000 new hires since January 2011 – New site opening in Parkstadt-Schwabing

The MAN Group hired over 1,000 employees at its Munich sites from the start of the year through May, bringing its workforce in the city to a current 8,840. The new employees have primarily enlarged the central functions, like product development, service, and after sales, as well as global purchasing. For this reason, MAN is opening a new site in Munich and will be moving into the spacious offices in Parkstadt-Schwabing.

“We are delighted to be able to offer qualified employees long-term positions involving a high level of responsibility — and in an interesting business hub like Munich at that,” says Jörg Schwitalla, Chief Human Resources Officer of MAN SE. “In strengthening the main key functions, we are responding to the growing needs of our customers and the MAN Group’s course for growth.”

This development will also see MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH, the sales subsidiary of MAN Truck & Bus AG, and MAN Finance International GmbH move into the office premises at the new site in Parkstadt-Schwabing as of November 2011 together with some of the MAN SE Corporate Center functions. They will soon have space of around 20,600 m² at their disposal for offices and meeting rooms.

The new site is well positioned for reaching the MAN Truck & Bus AG headquarters in Munich-Karlsfeld and MAN SE’s Corporate Center on Ungererstraße in Munich-Schwabing. Good accessibility by public transportation as well as an aesthetically-appealing and modern work environment were important criteria when choosing the site. In addition to the current increase in capacity, the option to expand further in the future was also taken into account.
