Company leaders discuss decision to shut down operations and appeal for resolution

Canada Post Chief Executive Officer Deepak Chopra and Chief Operating Officer Jacques Côté have a message for all employees of Canada Post.

In their video messages, Mr. Chopra and Mr. Côté speak about the difficult decision to shut down operations after 12 days of rotating strikes by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) and acknowledge its impact on employees.

They also share the core principles of the company’s strategy in this round of labour negotiations, and issue a personal appeal to CUPW to accept the current offer that is on the table.
