TestAmerica’s Air Expert Speaks on Vapor Intrusion Issues at A&WMA’s 104th Annual Conference

William Elcoate, TestAmerica’s Air Program Director, joins a panel of industry experts to speak on the impacts of Vapor Intrusion for risk assessments associated with Hazardous Waste Management at the Air & Waste Management Association’s (A&WMA) 104th Annual Conference & Exhibition. The presentation and Q&A session will be given on June 21, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.

The technical session titled Developments in Industrial and Hazardous Waste Management covers current issues related to waste characterization and the regulatory environment. Mr. Elcoate will address the challenges of Vapor Intrusion as a recent exposure pathway to Superfund, Brownfields, and State regulated contaminated site evaluations and property transfers. Vapor Intrusion is the migration of volatile compounds from sub-surface into overlaying or adjacent buildings. An overview of the current regulatory status for Vapor Intrusion will be provided. An update to the regulatory scene is expected from the Environmental Protection Agency in November 2012.

Mr. Elcoate has over 20 years of experience in the environmental testing industry and is currently a technical and regulatory expert for TestAmerica’s Air Testing Program. He has been actively involved in Vapor Intrusion seminars across the nation and will be presenting his own webinar on June 16th.
