Under the heading of ‘taking evidence to impact’, the Global Partners Forum will present evidence based programmatic approaches for children affected by AIDS. The event is co-hosted by UNICEF, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and UNAIDS.
The two-day Forum will focus on
*Strategies for reaching the most vulnerable children affected by HIV and AIDS;
*Country level lessons on what has worked in scaling up interventions;
*Aid effectiveness - making the money work better in response to children affected by AIDS
The Forum comes ahead of the 2011 UN General Assembly High Level Meeting on AIDS which will take place from 8–10 June 2011 in New York. During the High Level Meeting, the world will come together to review progress and chart the future course of the global AIDS response. Member States are expected to adopt a new Declaration that will reaffirm current commitments and commit to actions to guide and sustain the global AIDS response.
