A New and Innovative Way to Fundraise for Charity
InviteCharity.com introduces a new and innovative way for anyone to dedicate their birthday, wedding, or any occasion, to charity and support a good cause.
“Billions of dollars are spent each year on birthday gifts, and other types of gifts, that most of us don’t need or even want. If it really is “the thought” that counts, then why not donate that money toward charitable causes instead?” says Bill Saedlo, president of Invite Charity.
Bill Saedlo and Don Guy, co-founders of Invite Charity, have developed an innovative way for anyone to dedicate their special moments in life to charity via online e-invitations. “In lieu of receiving gifts, users can ask their friends & family to make a charitable donation on their behalf to the charities chosen by the host. This way, the money goes where it’s needed most and can have a positive impact on people’s lives.” says Don Guy, vice-president of Invite Charity.
Invite Charity provides two types of e-invitations for charitable fundraising; “Event Invitations” and “Non-Event Invitations”:
Event/Party Invitations: Hosts that are planning a party, or event, can use the service to create e-invitations and dedicate the event to any 501(c)3 registered charity of their choice. Such events can include birthday parties, weddings, showers, graduations, fundraiser dinners, etc.
Invitations are emailed to guests and the guests are invited to make a charitable donation on behalf of the host. The list of guests and charitable donors scrolls down the left side of the page for all the guests to see. “Seeing others who have donated creates enthusiasm to give among the guests”, says Bill Saedlo.
Non-Event Invitations: Socially conscious people looking to dedicate an occasion to charity, without having an actual event to attend, can do so simply by selecting the “No Party/Event” option.
“Since everybody has a birthday, this is the type of fundraising tool that everyone can use at least once per year to do something good and make a positive difference in the world. And since we’re all accustomed to “giving” on a friend’s birthday, this is a very powerful way to fundraise for charity!” says Don Guy, co-founder of Invite Charity.
