WEBWIRE

05 May 2006, BP has selected CT TyMetrix, Inc. (“CTT”) and Interwoven, Inc. (“Interwoven”) as its preferred suppliers to create a global data flow and information management system for its in-house legal department. The two information technology companies have been brought together with Huron Consulting Group (“Huron”) to analyse business processes and integrate workflow, e-billing, document management, and information retrieval systems among its 750 legal staff spread over 50 locations.

Peter Bevan, Group General Counsel said, “BP Legal is creating a truly global matter and information management system to improve our efficiency and help us more pro-actively to manage our legal costs. We are all looking forward to working with these firms, who share our enthusiasm for this innovative project.”

CTT is to provide its hosted 360° matter management software and electronic billing solution to permit BP Legal to manage its workflow on a matter by matter basis and to better analyse and manage its external legal spend.

Interwoven is to provide its WorkSite document management software that will permit BP Legal to store and retrieve electronic documents (including email) efficiently and consistently.

Huron has been engaged to provide business process and implementation support services. Their focus is to ensure full integration between the two software solutions providing a seamless interface that will increase user acceptance and help achieve the desired project benefits. They will also be helping to develop training programmes and support models.

The software suppliers were selected following a lengthy evaluation process, which included a requirement to prove the software’s capability against a specified concept.

BP has formed a team to implement the systems containing members of BP Legal and BP’s Digital Technology department.
