IT consultancy Mandator’s Estonian operations have been certified in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 international quality assurance standard. Certification is further proof of Mandator’s prominent position in nearshore, an area in which the company has been active since 1999.

“Mandator is among the first IT companies in Estonia to attain ISO 9001:2000 certification,” comments Anders Velander, CEO of Mandator. “For us this is clear confirmation of the quality we offer. We have the experience and the processes required to successfully implement cost-effective projects based in Estonia. This certification is also important to our current plans to expand our nearshore operations.”

Nearshore entails parts of or an entire IT project being outsourced to a nearby country to achieve cost-savings while retaining geographic and cultural proximity. Mandator’s integrated nearshore offering means customers can work with their existing, local contact despite some of the work, such as development and testing, being conducted by Estonian experts.

ISO 9001:2000 is a quality management system based on management work, expertise, visions, goals, strategies, values and management tools. A certified company has an established structure from management down regulating the handling of quality issues. Achieving certification involves extensive work and the fulfilment of a large number of requirements.
