Kennewick, Wash., -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE:LMT] is hosting the 11th annual Information Technology (IT) Day on Wednesday, May 4, at the Three Rivers Convention Center to increase IT business and training throughout the local and regional community. This premiere event in Washington State attracts crowds in the thousands and is the largest of its kind in eastern Washington.

IT Day’s theme is “Forecast the Future: IT & Energy” and includes informational workshops and discussions on cloud computing, cyber security, energy efficiency, green energy and more. Mixing entertainment and educational activities, IT Day offers both developmental and networking opportunities for attendees. In past years, attendees have included educators, students, politicians, business executives, and IT professionals from throughout the Pacific Northwest.

“Lockheed Martin is proud to bring IT Day to the Tri-Cities community once again,” said Frank Armijo, President, Mission Service Alliance and Vice President, Lockheed Martin. “IT has made a tremendous impact on all of our lives, particularly when it comes to energy. IT Day will help outline some of those impacts for our attendees.”

The day-long event is free of charge and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s event will feature informational workshops led by experts from top firms and an expo hall with about 80 vendors including area businesses, universities and industry. Lockheed Martin will provide live demonstrations of some of its innovations, as well as provide attendees with opportunities to interact with state-of-the-art multimedia tools.

The IT Day luncheon will feature Peter Leyden, a leading expert on megatrends and new technology, who also served as the managing editor of the original Wired Magazine. His presentation entitled, “The Next Tech Paradigm Shift” will be offered via simulcast into an adjacent meeting room for those guests who opted to not purchase luncheon tickets, which historically sell out well in advance of IT Day.

The vendor expo will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the luncheon at Noon. There is a $15 fee for the luncheon, which is expected to sell out in advance. Advance registration is recommended online. For additional information, visit www.itday.org.
