Reputable poker website are still accepting US players after a number of leading online poker destinations were shut down by authorities, according to poker room comparison site PokerDeal.org.

(29 April 2011) - - Several reputable poker sites are still accepting US players following an investigation which saw the FBI close the operations of several major online poker websites.

The FBI clampdown closed the operations of Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, UB and PokerStars in the US, leaving many US-based poker players without access to their regular poker accounts.

However, in spite of the FBI action, there remains a number of high profile, reputable online poker providers open to new accounts from US players, and on the whole poker sites still accepting US players remain strong contenders for market share.

While the actions of the FBI have left many US players without service, there remained a number of credible options for US poker players online.

Imteaz Ahmed, a spokesperson for PokerDeal.org said that while the closure of several major websites was undoubtedly a blow for US online poker, those still accepting US players remain amongst the most reputable and successful global poker brands.

“The recent investigations conducted by the FBI that led to the closure of operations of several of the world’s leading online poker sites in the US has shaken the foundations of the gambling industry, and caused untold disruption to poker players across the US. Those that formerly had accounts with PokerStars, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker amongst others have effectively been left high and dry, while the FBI’s decision has led to many other sites closing down applications from US based players.”

“That’s not to say there are no options for US players. Where can US players play poker online? In fact there remains several notable exceptions to the rule who are still actively seeking American players, including Bodog and Carbon Poker, which are far from fly-by-night operations. The upshot is that US players can still find online poker rooms willing to accept their business, and they can still expect a fantastic service at least equal to that provided by their previous poker site.”
