TestAmerica Laboratories, Inc. Names James E. Hyman Chief Executive Officer

TestAmerica Laboratories, Inc., the leading environmental testing firm in the United States, announced today that James E. Hyman has been named Chief Executive Officer and has been appointed to the company’s board of directors. Hyman succeeds Rachel Brydon Jannetta, who has served as CEO for TestAmerica and predecessor company STL since 1993. Brydon Jannetta is retiring from her executive role and will assume the position of Chairperson of the board of directors. These changes are effective May 2, 2011.

“I have enjoyed my time with TestAmerica immensely and am proud of the leadership we have provided in the industry,” said Brydon Jannetta. “After 35 years in the business world it is time for me to change gears and I’m very happy to stay with TestAmerica in the non-executive capacity of Chairman. I wish James well as he takes over leadership of the extraordinary team of people that is TestAmerica.”

James E. Hyman comes to TestAmerica with more than 25 years of experience in international business leadership. Until its 2010 sale, Hyman was Chairman, President and CEO of Cornell Companies, Inc., a provider to government agencies of corrections, education, rehabilitation and treatment services. Earlier in his career, Hyman held executive positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, GE Capital Services, McKinsey & Company, and JP Morgan, and he also chairs the not-for-profit Mega-Cities Project. Hyman has an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and an AB with Honors from the University of Chicago.
