Movea’s SmartMotion™ control creates opportunities for Cable Operators to enhance Digital TV services

Cologne, Germany – APRIL 25, 2011 – SMK Europe NV announced today its strategic technology partnership with Movea, and will present Movea’s patented MotionIC platform to the Cable Television market at ANGA Cable 2011 in Cologne. SMK will demonstrate the MotionIC Platform capabilities in both the “Jade” remote control prototype as well as a new all-in-one Remote Control with Keyboard device, RemoPad, which is currently under development.

As the world leader in the development and production of remote control solutions, SMK Europe has been playing a key role in driving technology and innovative control devices for a new wave of Set-Top Boxes (STBs) and Digital TV services, which are emerging for next generation PayTV products.

SMK will be conducting private meetings on an appointment basis with Tier 1 Service Providers and the leading STB suppliers on May 3 -5 at the Dorint An der Messe Hotel, located at Deutz-Mulheimertrasse 22, located conveniently close to the ANGA Cable trade show. Through these product demonstrations and discussions with Service Providers and STB suppliers, SMK is reinforcing its commitment to integrate motion sensing with advanced pointing devices, using Movea’s MotionIC technology, and deliver on the vision of motion-driven UI’s for navigating digital media.
