Industry Associations Recognize IDT as a Technology Leader in the Race to Replace Quartz

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) ( NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that it will present at the 2011 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and European Frequency and Time Forum, held in San Francisco, CA on May 1-5.

Michael S. McCorquodale, Ph.D., general manager of the Silicon Frequency Control group at IDT and Senior Member of the IEEE, will present an invited seminar entitled, “A History of the Development of CMOS Oscillators: The Dark Horse in Frequency Control”. The presentation will open by discussing the investments made over the past decade in non-quartz based frequency reference sources, including MEMS and CMOS oscillators, and then shift its focus exclusively to the history of CMOS oscillator development as it pertains to the replacement of traditional quartz crystal oscillators. Pursued for the last 50 years, only recently have design breakthroughs from companies like IDT produced innovative CMOS-based frequency reference devices that have been gaining significant traction, shipping millions of units per quarter for use in a myriad of applications.

“IEEE’s International Frequency Control Symposium is the ideal setting for IDT to showcase its leadership position in developing and delivering innovative frequency control products. Our CMOS oscillator portfolio demonstrates that IDT is a leader of cutting edge timing solutions. The IDT 3CP0C02 product, with its 100ppm accuracy, is a major breakthrough in the frequency control market and achieves performance-levels in CMOS thought to be attainable only with quartz technology,” said Fred Zust, vice president and general manager of the Communications Division at IDT. “With power, form-factor, lead-time and cost advantages, CMOS oscillators are now poised to take over a substantial portion of the market previously occupied by quartz-based oscillators.”

To attend IDT’s presentation, visit the Frequency Synthesis & CMOS Oscillators Session on Tuesday, May 3 at 1:30pm PT at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, CA. As a follow-up presentation, IDT will present Self-Referenced Monolithic RF CMOS Oscillators for XTAL and XO Replacement at the 2011 CMOS Emerging Technologies Meeting on June 15-17.
