DirectRooms reveals that film directors have been submitting their work for a festival in Munich that is dedicated to documentaries and the real life situations they reveal.

Over the week between 4th and 11th May 2011 around 70 films will be shown at six different cinemas throughout Munich as part of DOK.fest. The documentaries will lead audiences through real life events covering issues such as social justice, human rights and even space travel.

The event is set to include the work from a broad range of directors from across the world and the show’s signature prize is DOK International, an award for the best international film which carries a grand prize of 10,000 Euros.

The local film market will be covered with entries for films in German and a prize for the best national director. The DOK Horizons award will also recognise the talents of film makers from developing countries who are able to produce films often in difficult financial or political situations.

Attendees travelling from a hotel Munich Airport (http://directrooms.com/germany/hotels/munich-hotels/airport-price1.htm) can visit the workshops taking place at different times which will give practical experience on shooting quality pictures. The sessions will also give audiences an exclusive opportunity to meet with some of the directors that have produced the festival’s films.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms commented: “Previous editions of the festival have seen more than 12,000 people attending and with this many visitors to the city hotel rooms will be in short supply.”
