NCR Advanced Checkout Solution Certified Compliant with ARTS IXRetail Standard

May 2, 2006, ATLANTA – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) announced that the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) has certified NCR Advanced Checkout Solution (ACS) point-of-sale (POS) software as conformant with the ARTS IXRetail POSlog standard.

POSlog is an extensible markup language (XML) schema that organizes data captured at the POS. POSlog-conformant software allows POS data to be quickly integrated into other applications such as delivery, sales reporting, credit authorization, fraud analysis and inventory tracking.

“NCR ACS has successfully passed the ARTS conformance test process, verifying its ability to accurately generate the POSlog XML schema,” said ARTS Executive Director Richard Mader. “Retailers look for POSlog compliance as added assurance that their POS applications and other store systems can be integrated quickly with reduced risk and at lower cost.”
