John Thies Brings Hothouse Improvisation to Lesly Kahn & Company

Los Angeles, California – John Thies, founder of Hothouse Improvisation (The Hothouse), has joined forces with Lesly Kahn & Company Actor Training (http://www.leslykahn.com).

John’s workshops and comedy intensive classes provide actors with improv skills to be used on set, in auditions, in meetings and in real world situations.

Improvisation Skills for the Actor is targeted at the artist who understands that the ability to improvise is an essential skill in any acting situation. Taught within a playful environment, John’s improv classes help students to get out of their heads, speed-up creative flow and become more present, confident and spontaneous in their acting choices. This six-week intensive introduces the actor to the skills and techniques of improvisation used in creating improvised scenes, characters, relationships and dialogue.

John Thies has been studying, performing and teaching improvisation for more than twenty-four years. He is the founding Artistic Director and owner of Hothouse Improvisation (The Hothouse) in Los Angeles, a theater and acting studio that specializes in improvisation training, performance and development for the Actor. The Hothouse serves as his teaching and creative home. Over the past six years, John has directed more than 150 original, improvised productions that have been met with consistently sold-out houses.
