Auto Insurance Rates - Top 5 American States Declared Highest in Auto Insurance Rates
In a report released by Insure.com last week, five American States were identified to have the highest auto insurance rates in the nation. Topping the survey is Michigan with an Average Annual Premium of $2,541 and 21% higher than that of 2010, followed by Louisiana ($2,453), Oklahoma ($2,197), Montana ($2,190) and lastly, Washington, D.C. ($2,146). The last on the list is Vermont with the lowest auto insurance rate of $995.
The survey was based on a typical 40-year-old male with a clean driving record and collected auto insurance rates from America’s six major insurance companies of more than 2000 vehicles and 10 ZIP codes per state.
According to the report, the main reason for this alarming increase was because Michigan is the only state in the US that offers unlimited personal injury protection (PIP) payments to injured people involved in a vehicular accident.
However, despite not being included among the top five, many consumers in the remaining states are still devastated of the consistent increase of auto insurance rates year by year, leading to more people cutting their subscriptions or seeking for some alternatives to this progressive escalation of auto insurance rates by utilizing free quote comparison sites like AffordableCarInsuranceNow.com, a popular user-friendly site used to get accurate auto insurance rate quotes from existing insurance companies in the area.
According to Dean Preston, Media Relations Officer of AffordableCarInsuranceNow.com, “It’s not surprising that free quote comparison sites are getting popular. Consumers want to have the best, but they need to make sure the best are the ones they can also afford. Affordable Car Insurance Now gives them the opportunity to compare auto insurance quotes, saving them up to $500 every year from their auto insurance premium.”
