First to Offer Trend and Resource Reporting for Application Usage

SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 1, 2006 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced the latest release of its WXTM Central Management SystemTM (CMSTM) software for both large enterprises and managed service providers. The WX CMS version 5.2 software offers a number of new capabilities that reduce the time and costs required to roll out application acceleration services, automate critical provisioning functions and optimize network resources via new reporting and planning tools.

Available now, the WX CMS 5.2 software delivers on the visibility and reporting requirements defined as part of the Juniper Networks Application Acceleration Strategy, also announced today. Built to support the specific needs of managed service providers (MSPs) delivering application acceleration services, the new WX CMS software enables users to easily and cost-effectively deliver value-added reporting capabilities to multiple customers from a single interface.

“As a service provider, delivering a truly competitive, value-added service requires visibility into application performance across the enterprise, coupled with the ability to provide customers with detailed reports summarizing that performance as it relates to the business,” says Mike Journey, Telehealth Systems Manager, GCI Managed Broadband Services. “The Juniper Networks WX CMS is ideal for our large enterprise clients with its ability to create multiple user accounts and assign different access privileges. We can give customers read-only access to view their stats when they want, 24 hours a day, without my intervention.”

Operationalize Large Deployments

New functionality in the WX CMS software offers valuable time management and cost-saving benefits to MSPs and large enterprises. For MSPs, the WX CMS v.5.2 software dramatically simplifies multi-customer management by providing a single platform from which the MSPs can manage multiple customer networks. For both enterprises and MSPs, the software dramatically simplifies the configuration and management of multiple WX and WXCTM application acceleration platforms deployed in geographically dispersed locations. This can be done from a single operations center through the following new features:

User Access Control: Customizable user roles and role-based views allow MSPs and large enterprises to assign tiered access privileges. This provides granular access control to WX reports and device configuration functions for various users. User roles define which configurations and which devices the user can access.
Support for Network Address Translation (NAT): Allows MSPs to manage WX/WXC devices deployed within a customer’s private IP address space while maintaining the WX CMS management platform in their own management network. All WAN reporting and WX/WXC configuration management features are tightly integrated with user access control and role-based views.
Device Configuration Publishing: WX CMS administrators can define access control and publishing rights to distinct device configuration for a single or multiple user groups.
Remote AAA support for Microsoft Active Directory schema: Supports the Microsoft Active Directory schema for remote authentication and authorization, enabling administrators to use LDAP authorizations to enforce WX CMS software access privileges.
Automate Critical Management Functions

The WX CMS software saves time for both enterprises and managed service providers by automating critical management functions in large deployments of WX/WXC platforms. This dramatically simplifies provisioning of managed application acceleration services by MSPs and facilitates large WX/WXC deployments by enterprises. Administrators can schedule tasks to be performed automatically for an entire community or device group, eliminating the need to manually schedule ongoing tasks such as software downloads, collection of configuration back-ups and new device diagnostics.

Optimize Network Resources via New Reporting and Planning Tools

By providing centralized reporting of application acceleration statistics for each device, the WX CMS software offers an intuitive window into the performance of the geographically dispersed WX/WXC platforms throughout a network. The latest release of the WX CMS software includes new reporting and planning tools that provide deeper visibility into application and WAN performance.

Automatic report scheduling and distribution via email: The WX CMS software allows MSPs to offer the incremental service of automatically publishing and distributing any combination of 36 different summary, performance, and trend reports via email as a PDF on a recurring or one-time basis.
Application Acceleration Summary Report: This new report brings together all application acceleration metrics for traffic between two locations and provides an overview of compression, caching, TCP acceleration, and application-specific acceleration results provided by the WX/WXC platforms.
Trend reports: Support for trend reports allows both MSPs and enterprises to proactively manage precious WAN resources by enabling capacity planning.
Pricing and Availability

Suggested WX CMS 5.2 software pricing starts at $5,795 for 10 devices. The new WX CMS software is currently available now at www.juniper.net to customers with an active support contract.
