The ’Fillmore Thunder’ Octave Fuzz Guitar Pedal by Elite Tone

WEBWIRE

2010 has been good for Elite Tone’s Fillmore Thunder dual fuzz and octave guitar pedal. In May of 2010 the Fillmore Thunder was featured in a web exclusive article from Premier Guitar magazine. September marked another mile stone when professional blues player “Eric Gales” enlisted the Fillmore Thunder for his 6 month world tour. Elite Tone has sailed into the new year with astounding response generated when Premier Guitar featured the Fillmore on the annual awards issue cover, achieving a 5/5 rating and editor’s pick. 2011 shows all the signs of further progress.

Premier Guitar reviewer Kenny Rardin took this praise a step further, calling the Fillmore Thunder “the most controllable Octavia I’ve ever played.” He cited the unit’s exceptional flexibility, too, noting that “usually Octavias are used on the neck pickup and above the seventh fret; this one tracks well throughout the fingerboard and even works well on the bridge pickup.” Sounds to us like a true evolution of a revolutionary and timeless effect.

So what do customers have to say in their own words about the Fillmore Thunder?

– “I just received my new Fillmore Thunder fuzz/Octave Pedal and was compelled to write this note to thank you for such a wonderful effect pedal. I’ve been playing guitar for over 30 years and have gone through countless octave and fuzz pedals... only to end up selling them after realizing that they did nothing for my tone whatsoever. After having worn down my finger tips for the last hour and a half, I can find nothing but good things to say about this effect. The fuzz-side of the effect works wonderfully with the volume of the guitar itself... at low volume levels with the fuzz engaged, it does not sound broken-up and ’quacky’ like some other fuzz units I’ve used. Rolling up the volume on the guitar gradually sweeps through the mid-level fuzz to an all-out fuzz assault. At no point is the integrity of the guitar’s sound compromised. I play a Stratocaster and I can tell through all volume ranges that I’m playing a Strat. In essence, the fuzz is not masking the sound of the guitar, but complementing it.”

”On the octave side-of-the-house, not only does the octave work fantastically with the fuzz (still working out my settings to use them in conjunction with each other), but the octave also works perfectly with the high-gain channel of my amp. It also works with the clean channel, too. Years ago I had the Rocket series Roger Mayer Octavia and ended up selling it. Even though I liked it, I could just never get it tuned-in with my rig. Right out of the shipping box, I was able to get the sound with the Fillmore Thunder that I’ve been looking for for years. I don’t have enough accolades to share, however, I did want to share my complete satisfaction with my new favorite pedal of all time!”

”Again, I’m not prone to writing emails when I get a new product, whatever it may be, but I had to thank you for designing this pedal. It’s truly wonderful... and after my fingers recover, I’m going to go a few more rounds with it:)”
