Fujitsu Siemens Computers Final Financial Results
Profit Before Tax grew by 27% to €121 Million
Munich/Germany , Apr 27, 2006
Fujitsu Siemens Computers BV, the leading European IT provider, announced that its final financials for its Fiscal Year 2005 (ending March 31, 2006) are clearly reflecting the company’s focus of further expanding its profitable business. The revenue was € 6.65 billion, a creditable 11 percent growth compared to the previous fiscal year. Profit before tax (PBT) grew even more strongly and reached €121 million, an improvement of 27 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. Profits before tax exceed the previously announced figure (of €120 million) due to a stronger focus on high margin business especially in the last two months of the fiscal year 2005/2006.
The revenue announced is slightly lower than the preliminary figure (of €6.70 billion) published at CeBIT 2006 due to weaker than expected consumer sales. In the second half of fiscal year 2005, the company recorded €3.78 billion in revenue, a 10 percent growth compared to the previous fiscal year. Profit before tax reached €94 million, a growth of 27 percent compared to the previous year.
Bernd Bischoff, President and CEO of Fujitsu Siemens Computers: “Our results continue to prove that we are on the right track to meet our goal of being a €10 billion revenue company with €250 million Profit before tax by the end of Fiscal Year 2008. Since 2002 Profit before tax from grew from € 8 million to € 121 million, reaffirming the company’s strategy to focus on innovative business segments such as Dynamic Data Center and Mobility.”
Amongst others the industry leading data center concept ‘FlexFrame for Oracle’, LIFEBOOK notebooks with integrated UMTS and Pocket LOOX handhelds with telephone and PC functionality substantiate this positive trend, which will be reinforced by the integration of the company’s new Services division.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers also announced that the company’s new Services division started operations as planned on April 1, 2006. This move strengthens the leading European IT company’s position and enhances further its ability to provide IT infrastructure solutions and product-related services. The new division will focus on end-to-end platform solutions, ensuring Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ ability to offer the complete spectrum of services for infrastructure and mobility solutions in a multi-vendor environment. The company will continue its strategy of partners providing high-volume product services integrated into its overall solutions.
“Through the acquisition of the new Services division, we can now provide full end-to-end services and solutions. Joining the two businesses is a strategic investment in the future of Fujitsu Siemens Computers, which enables us to grow in all our markets”, said Bernd Bischoff, President and CEO of Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
For the Fiscal Year 2006, which runs from April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2007, Fujitsu Siemens Computers expects to grow the business with a significant double digit growth rate and increase the operational profit in parallel.
In addition, the company will focus on the successful integration the Services business, which will be above break-even by the end of the ongoing fiscal year. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will continue to expand its capabilities with the aim to help customers innovate through its focus on two key strategic areas: Mobility and Dynamic Data Center.
By the end of Fiscal Year 2008 (March 31, 2009), the company targets to be a €10 billion company with €250 Million in Profit before tax.
