WyoTech Joins Daytona Bike Week 2011 to Host Several Events, Shows

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (February 24, 2011) – Beginning Friday, March 4, the WyoTech campus in Ormond Beach will host a series of events for Daytona Bike Week 2011. “Destination Sportbike” will include a wide array of shows and celebrities guaranteed to entertain any motorcycle enthusiast. March 8 starts the 21st Annual Brute Horsepower Shootout where contestants from across the country will compete on WyoTech’s multiple dynamometers to determine whose motorcycle produces the most horsepower. The week concludes with Jason Britton’s “Team No Limit” and the “Icon Limiter Live” fashion show.

“Destination Sportbike”
Andy Bell, legendary FMX rider and member of Nitro Circus will emcee the events on Friday, March 4, from 12:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. during “Destination Sportbike”. The events include a Freestyle Motocross Show, a Sportbike Freestyle Show, and a Mini Moto Race. Throughout the event, spectators will enjoy an exhibit of “Roaring Toyz” custom-built bikes, courtesy of founder Robert Fisher.

Brute Horsepower Shootout
Tuesday, March 8, the thrilling Brute Horsepower Shootout sponsored by BMW Motorrad USA begins. Qualifying in the 13 categories range from Harley/Domestic V-twin classes to the separate classes for Asian and Euro, and all lead up to the unlimited class, anything goes concept of the shootout. Qualifying and tuning rounds are scheduled for the first three days, Tuesday through Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily with last chance qualifying on Friday. The championship round explodes on Saturday, March 12, as top qualifiers return to push their bikes to the limit for trophies, prizes and bragging rights. Open to the public, the Shootout entry is free.

Alongside the shootout will be a manufacturer’s midway featuring some of the most recognized performance parts distributors in the country, displaying and selling their latest products. Attendees can speak with Brock Davidson of Brock’s Performance, Skip Dowling of Orient Express, and Erick Hockstetler of MTC Engineering, among others. Additionally, spectators can look forward to appearances from World Champion Rickey Gadson and drag racing legend Larry “Spiderman” McBride.

“Icon Limiter Live” Fashion Show
Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12, the “Icon Limiter Live” fashion show featuring DJ and hip hop artist, Jpigg will join forces with Britton’s “Team No Limit” along with Nick Apex and Ernie Vigil of “Team Empire” to present a one-of-a-kind fashion/stunt show showcasing the latest Icon gear. Presented by Kawasaki in association with Renthal and Vance & Hines, these shows will be free to the public at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on both days.
