DirectRooms.com – Natural Medicine in the Spotlight in Edinburgh this Spring

WEBWIRE

People with an interest in alternative medicine will gather in Edinburgh this spring to share their knowledge of traditional remedies. The city’s Royal Botanic Garden Atrium in the John Hope Gateway will be the venues for the exciting Remembered Remedies event, which will take place on Saturday March 19th from 10am to 12 noon.

The event, which is free to attend, will look at traditional and natural remedies through the years and will look at how Scotland’s native plants have been used over the centuries for their healing and health giving powers. This is part of an ongoing project to gather information on the use of natural plant remedies in the treatment of medical conditions.

Those interested in natural alternatives will be able to learn about some of the remedies that have already been documented by the project, while volunteers from the organisation Ethnomedica will attend, looking to learn about other anecdotal evidence of remedies for common complaints.

Lek Boonlert, head of marketing at DirectRooms said: “This event is just one of a number of interesting attractions that will be brining people to Edinburgh in the month of March. As a city that is hugely popular with visitors, Edinburgh offers a fine range of accommodation with hotels in Edinburgh (http://directrooms.com/scotland/hotels/edinburgh-hotels/price1.htm) available to suit every style and budget. We would advise anyone looking to travel to the area around this time, to book their accommodation early, in order to avoid disappointment”.
