Philips receives 28 iF product design awards 2011

The highest number ever of annual iF product design awards for Philips


Eindhoven, The Netherlands – Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) beats its own record, this year receiving an exceptional 28 awards for product design from the world renowned iF design awards.

Philips is proud to see that the design of so many of its products and concepts have been honored as winners of an iF Product Design Award by the jury this year. This is a key recognition that Philips’ people-focused design approach helps to bring sense and simplicity to people’s lives. The 28 awards in 8 different categories reflect the innovative design across Philips Healthcare, Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting portfolio.

iF product design: one of the world’s key design competitions
As “seal of good design”, known throughout the global world of design and beyond, the iF product design award honors outstanding achievements in design.
An internationally renowned jury, consisting of 26 designers and entrepreneurs, have engaged in a critical discussion and debate to select the winning products. Out of 2,756 entries from 43 countries entered in the competition this year, the jury of the iF product design award has selected their 993 favorites as the best designs for 2011.



All prize-winning products will be presented at the iF design exhibition 2010 in Hanover, Germany, which opens on March 1 and runs until August 2011. During this period around 250,000 international visitors are expected. On March 1 the awards ceremony will take place (opening day of CeBIT) where the Gold Award Winners will be announced.
