New Synthetic Paper Provides More Opportunities for Digital Printers

Fusion Digital Paper™ officially launches a unique line of synthetic products made specifically for digital imaging. Fusion Digital Paper™ allows printers to take jobs that previously had only been printed via traditional offset, and now allows them to be run these jobs on their digital equipment. Therefore, consumers can now digitally print projects on products with similar attributes to vinyl and waterproof synthetic papers without sacrificing print fidelity and toner adhesion.

“In showing these products to printers across the country, they are really excited about having the opportunity to utilize their digital equipment for applications that require a waterproof, durable synthetic paper”, said Al Grant, who leads marketing and distribution for Fusion Digital Paper™ and has been involved in the paper and graphic arts industry for almost 30 years. “Fusion Digital Paper is a growing bundle of synthetic products designed specifically to fill this need.”

Fusion Digital Paper™ can be used for a wide variety of applications, including wall graphics, peel n stick postcards (a cost effective alternative to magnets mailers), bumper stickers, menus, name badges, mattress labels, maps and many other uses. “The feedback we have received from printers that were the first to take advantage of our line of products has been great. They love the runnability, print fidelity and toner adhesion, which has been an issue with other types of products they have tried in the past”, stated Al Grant.

Marcus Newton from Printing Specialists in Tempe, AZ stated, “I had been searching for ideas to generate new income opportunities with my digital equipment. Recently a customer asked me if I could make up a custom wrist band for an event they were holding. The job was a short run, so I did not want to run it offset. But I was able to image a flexible, tear resistant wrist band on my Konica Minolta bizhub 6500, and then two-side tape the ends together. I have found Fusion to be a great way to produce really unique, high margin projects.”
