Lisbon - NYSE Euronext is pleased to announce the launching of the NYSE Euronext Lisbon Awards which will be delivered for the first time in early 2012, referring to the 2011 performance. The Awards will be granted to listed companies, market members and other institutions and individuals for their activity in the Portuguese capital markets. The selection will be granted by a jury composed by the PSI 20 Committee members.

By the occasion, Luís Laginha de Sousa, CEO and Chairman of NYSE Euronext Lisbon said: “Capital markets are essential to the development of any country. In Portugal we still have a long way to go to ensure that this relationship is fruitful.”

Awards Summary:

The NYSE Euronext Lisbon Awards will be granted with the support of a jury composed by the members of the PSI 20 Committee - João da Silva Ferreira, João Duque e Rui Alpalhão. The jury may decide not to attribute individual Awards in certain inadequate conditions.

1- Listed Company: the performance of listed companies will be assessed by price return plus dividend (total gross return). All Euronext (regulated) market companies are eligible, including foreign companies. Stocks trading less than 80% of trading days, as well as those with negative returns, will be excluded.

2- Market Member: the performance of members will be assessed by the volumes (€) traded in NYSE Euronext Lisbon securities market (order book plus regulated reported deals), in the securities included in this category.

3- IPO House: performance will be assessed on the basis of the financial intermediary activity in the share or bond placement, based on the volumes (€) issued and listed in the Euronext (regulated) segment, including Initial Public Offers and Seasoned Equity Offers. In syndicated deals only leaders and co-leaders will be eligible.

4- Warrant Issuer & Market Maker: this award will be granted to the issuer having issued and listed the highest number of warrants and certificates, and having been the most active market maker by trading volumes (€) in warrants and certificates.

5- Most Active Research House: this award will be granted to the institution with a wider coverage of listed companies, meaning the number of companies covered, the number of reports produced in the evaluation period and the dedicated team.

6- Most Active Law Firm: the most active law firm award will be granted to the firm having supported the highest number of share and bond issuing and listing deals, weighted by issuing volumes (€), in Euronext (regulated) market.

7- Investment Fund / Open Pension Fund in Portuguese Stocks: this category will award the investment fund/ Open Pension Fund that showed highest increase in total shares listed in NYSE Euronext Lisbon, relative to its initial portfolio size.

This Award was developed with the support of APFIPP (the Portuguese association of investment funds), contributing to the criteria definition and to the winner annual selection.

8- Financial Innovation: this will be an open category to all products, services, events or other initiatives that outstand for innovating in the Portuguese capital markets.

9- Best Scientific Research on Portuguese Capital Markets: scientific research may cover graduate research and publications with referee valuation, provided it includes some application on NYSE Euronext Lisbon listed securities.

10- Best Capital Market Promotion Event: this category will highlight the promotional event with the highest impact, based as much as possible on objective criteria (e.g. attendance, broadcasting, media coverage).
