Imagine Eyes®’ sales increase over 35% in 2010

San Francisco, CA & Orsay, France, January 24, 2011 – Imagine Eyes, the leader in adaptive-optics ophthalmic instrumentation, is pleased to announce that fiscal year 2010 was the best in the company’s history. With sales topping 1.2M€ ($US1.6M) and orders at nearly 1.3M€ ($US1.75M), the company’s sales grew over 35% in 2010. Click here to download the press release.

Stronger than anticipated demand for the company’s rtx1™ cellular-resolution retinal camera played a key role in driving sales up. The company began taking orders for the device in October and will begin delivering the first units later this month. The rtx1, currently intended for research use only, stands out as the first commercially available compact instrument that enables clinical and industrial researchers to visualize the retina at the microscopic level. With wide-ranging applications in clinical and pharmaceutical research, the company expects sales of the product to continue to grow.

OEM sales of the company’s irx3™ aberrometer for third-party refractive surgery customers as well as continued demand for its adaptive optics components, notably the mirao™ 52-e Electromagnetic Deformable Mirror, equally played a major role in the company’s results.
