Aeroflot: business achievements in eleven months of 2010

Moscow JSC ‘Aeroflot - Russian Airlines’ published its business results for November and eleven months of 2010.

In November 2010, Aeroflot’s passenger traffic increased by 25.8% in comparison with the similar period of 2009 to attain 2,733.2 bln passenger-kilometers. The number of uplifted passengers increased by 25.4% to 903.800. The number of passengers of international flights increased by 24.6% (+110.800 passengers) to reach 560,500. On domestic flights, 343.300 passengers were uplifted. This indicator is 26.8% (+72,500 passengers) higher than that for the similar period of 2009. In November, the occupancy of passenger seats was 73.2%, a 3.5 percentage point growth as compared to the previous year. The commercial load was 61.5%, a 3.2 percentage point growth as compared to the previous year.

The results of eleven months of 2010 show that Aeroflot’s passenger turnover was 32,092.6 bln passenger-kilometers, a 35.1% growth compared to the results of the previous year. The number of uplifted passengers increased by 30.0% to 10,421,700. The occupancy of passenger seats also increased to 77.7%, a 8.2 percentage point growth as compared to the previous year. The commercial load was 63.5%, a 7.7 percentage point growth as compared to the previous year.

Aeroflot, a leader of Russia’s air fleet, is a member of SkyTeam, the global airline alliance. Aeroflot’s overall flight network comprises 856 locations in 169 countries. In 2009, 8.755 mln passengers have used Aeroflot’s services.

The airline has successfully passed the Safety audit for ground operations (ISAGO). Aeroflot is a holder of the unified certificate of compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.
